Microbe Planet: Life On Earth, Extreme Environments & Astrobiology (6:30 pm - 9:00 pm)
Event Description:  
Dr. Murray’s research in aquatic and ice-laden environments utilizes new approaches for exploring the diversity and complexity of microbial life in order to understand how life functions and adapts to its surroundings here on earth. As an overview of Dr. Murray’s current research, this program will provide a better understanding of the unseen life forms that dominate this planet and connect the study of life on earth and studies elsewhere in the Universe.

Free Defensible Space Drop-Off Event (7:30 am - 2:00 pm)
A free yard waste drop-off event for residents of Incline Village and Crystal Bay. Acceptable items include tree limbs, pine needles, yard trimmings, dry grass and dead leaves. Debris should be no more than 4 feet in length and 4" in diameter.

Different strategies create a variety of results to your financial plans. Your financial plans are influenced by legal and tax techniques, the markets and your own tolerance to risk. What are some general financial items to consider and what will it mean to your family, your retirement, your tax bill? This seminar will look at the dollar and cents of financial plans from a legal and tax perspective and give you an overall view to help you create and work on your own strategies.

Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby (10:00 am)
The Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby will be the first standalone hunter derby on the west coast. The derby will be a member event of the Chronicle of the Horse/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) International Hunter Derby Series presented by Dietrich Insurance. This charitable event benefits the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation. Over the course of a day, riders and spectators will enjoy a variety of exciting events that offer the highest quality judges, the best course designers, great food, multiple exhibits for all ages, and first class hospitality for two- and four-legged competitors alike.
