Arts For the Schools

Arts for the schools is a non-profit organization that enhances our children’s education and fosters a lifelong love of the creative arts. This includes professional art curriculum in the classrooms, dance, music, theater, poetry and other art forms. Over 4,000 children are provided with art curriculum through Arts For the Schools programs each year.

Program & Activities

Artists in Residence Visual Art Program
Three professional artists provide hands-on visual and multi-disciplinary art to students grade K-12, to increase cultural and artistic awareness and emphasize the correlation between the creative process of reading, writing and art-making. More than 750 students receive art education in the classroom through AFtS each year.

Music, Dance and Theater Assemblies
World-class professional visiting artists expose students to the importance of art and culture. Students interact directly with artists focused on dance, music, theater and visual art forms. Approximately 400 workshops, assemblies and performances are provided each year, serving over 4,000 students plus local community members during public performances which typically take place in the evening following day-time programs at the schools.
