Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society

The Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society preserves, operates, and interprets the George Whittell, Jr., Thunderbird Lodge National Historic District at Sand Harbor and promotes public education, research, and appreciation regarding the unique historical, cultural, and architectural significance of Thunderbird Lodge and Lake Tahoe’s gilded age as well as assists and participates in the important region-wide efforts and programs committed to the scientific study and preservation of the fragile Lake.
